What causes or neighborhoods are you most passionate about seeing transformed in Fort Wayne?

Where do you want to see our community thrive?

In my previous work, we spent a lot of intentional and interpersonal time within the Pettit-Rudisill neighborhood; building relationships with neighbors, churches, and those who’ve been serving there for a long time and even won a grant to specifically lean into the assets there. There’s so much vibrancy and opportunity there, and now that there are more energy and efforts going into the lives of those that called the neighborhood home, I’m excited about the opportunity to see that portion of the community thrive.

With so much momentum in our great city, I think well-coordinated efforts between community-building organizations and local government can have the greatest impact. A true city-wide movement requires leaders from all parts of the city and every demographic group banding together to serve and work toward solutions that bring people together.

I remember Mayor Tucker mentioning that Fort Wayne is the only city in the country that has the highest income and lowest income zip code in the state within the same city. This disparity means the need is great, but the abundance is also great - what an opportunity.
