What’s a current challenge you’re facing in leadership that could benefit from shared wisdom?
Being in a new position in a different location, people will often approach you to say all of the negative things that were happening prior to your arrival. It’s easy to start making assumptions about what you are walking into, but I have made a concerted effort to reshape what they are saying into opportunities for impact. It’s also important that I don’t “believe everything I hear” and give into that negativity. I am choosing joy and hope and focusing on sharing that energy! It’s a daily choice, but one that I am confident will help the staff reshape their negative thoughts, too.

Love this and it certainly resonates with me as well! In a new space, we GET TO set the atmosphere, invite others into conversation, interact with other curiously and choose how we respond. I often ask myself when it comes to responding or making choices that will affect others…will this make a Kingdom Impact or how would Jesus respond to this?
